Wastewater treatment

In the year 2000, the United Nations established that the number of people whose wastewater treatment was inadequate reached 2.64 billion, therefore representing 44% of the world's population.

Waste water mixes water coming from both domestic and industrial uses, rainwater and soil water infiltration, and contains wastes like: organic and inorganic matter, nutrients, oils and grease, toxic substances, and pathogenic microorganisms whose elimination interrupts the epidemiologic cycle. Therefore, an inadequate wastewater treatment significantly increases mortality rates of people in contact with insalubrious water.

Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) should remove all pollution which is potentially dangerous for people, flora, and fauna, therefore protecting public health and the environment.

After a suitable treatment, water returns to the environment cleanly and sludge is incinerated, treated as urban solid waste, or transformed into compost or biogas in order to obtain thermal energy or electric power. This way, ecological cycles are closed.

During the year 2001, we carried out Dublin's plant aeration grids fabrication; Back then, the plant in Dublin was one of the biggest plants in the world, with more than 107,000 membrane diffusers. This WWTP is really close to the sea, and due to the lack of enough ground, reactors are in two floors; There are 12 tanks in the lower floor, and 12 tanks in the upper floor.

Dublin's WWTP is designed according to a process in which decantation takes place in the biological reactor. This process is called SBR, and Xylem is the main reference in this field at a European level.

Agribusiness and livestock farming

Wastewater from agribusiness and livestock farming presents a high degree of biodegradability due to its high concentration in organic compounds. This organic load causes raw water to have odor, color, and high BOD and COD (produced by organic matter decomposition). The following factors must be controlled too: suspended solids, high fats, grease, and oils contents, conductivity (control of other kinds of compounds, fundamentally inorganic), variability of pH values depending on the season, hydraulic load variability, and temperature (due to fermentation processes and tanker truck wash, including tank cleaning).

As a solution to all these problems, PROSIMED offers a wide range of equipment such as rotatory drum filters, automatic bar screens, screw conveyors, sludge silos, etc., and pretreatment systems, solids and grease removal, physical and chemical treatments, flotation, sludge treatment, centrifugation by means of filter presses, MBR or SBR micro/ultra filtration, etc.

Micro/ultrafiltration via MBR or SBR is a very interesting option because this system allows us a HIGH PERFORMANCE in both solids and organic matter reduction, and solves decantability problems caused by growth of filamentous bacteria; This way, we obtain HIGH QUALITY of tertiary tratment water (reusable according to Royal Decree 1620-2007). LESS SPACE TAKEN is also achieved, and excess sludge production is reduced, therefore REDUCING OPERATING COSTS.

Egg products industry

Our WWTPs for egg products industry are compact. They are manufactured, assembled, and tested in our premises. Both their transportation and assembly are very easy.

These plants are delivered fully equipped with intake flow meter provided with signal to the electrical panel for its automation, control panel provided with synoptic display with touch-screen, tank equipped with submerged MBR ultrafiltration membranes, aeration system, blowers, dosing equipment, permeate water tank, backwashing system, oximeter, footbridge, and sludge extraction and recirculation system.

Wine industries

In PROSIMED we make plants with submerged MBR or external MBR, flat sheet or hollow fiber, compact or high volume. Our designs are custom-made and with water reuse possibility. We manufacture all the equipment excluding pumps, valves, and centrifuges.

Our high volume plants have implementation of civil works projects, and bolted tanks in stainless steel.

Our modular plants are compact and fully assimilated into the environment, with standard sizes according to production (200_400_600-800 tons/year). Once completed, load and performance testing are carried out in our premises, adjusting our plants and leaving them ready to transport, connect at destination, and work.

Urban plants

Urban wastewater contains suspended solids, BOD and COD which come from organic matter decomposition, nitrogenous compounds such as ammonium and nitrates, and in some cases, sand, fats and grease. By means of a pretreatment, sand, oil, and solids are removed, and our compact plants carry out the whole process of roughing, sand removal and degreasing, in one single stage.

In PROSIMED, we carry out comprehensive studies of our clients' various needs, in order to offer them the solution which best adapts to each case. The result of our hard work and effort translates into wastewater treatment plants assimilated into the environment, with a minimal environmental (visual, sound, and olfactory) impact: our equipment are acoustically insulated and deodorized by means of activated carbon. Our wastewater treatment plants integrate avant-garde technology into a minimum space, reduce waste production (rough waste and sludge), and reuse water resources: by means of MBR ultrafiltration combined with ultraviolet disinfection, we obtain water according to regulations 1620/2007, which is 100% reusable for irrigation (gardens, greenzones, sport areas...), therefore reducing water consumption rates in the water supply network.

Thickening systems allow sludge concentration and minimize both removal and management costs. In settlements with a high number of inhabitants, installation of a sludge dewatering system is recommended.

Compact plants

In PROSIMED we pay attention even to the slightest detail and we pursue quality excellence, by means of carrying out all our projects according to the following three fundamental pillars: QUALITY, COST, and TIME. We follow the strictest controls and adjust all our products to current regulations.

For a PROSIMED compact plant completion, first, the tank is built in our premises (with internal details and supports for needed equipment). Materials and welding are cleaned up and prepared, and afterwards, paint is manually applied in order to guarantee protection of hard to access corners and narrow areas (with this, we achieve a TOTAL protection guarantee). Right after, by means of high pressure airless equipment, various layers of paint are applied (two-component liquid epoxy).

Assembly takes place in our premises: once the tank is completed, it is assembled on a protection frame in order to avoid corrosion, and all the operating elements are assembled too (dosing equipment, aeration equipment, instrumentation equipment...) as well as control elements (control panel, automatisms). Load and performance testing are carried out in our premises, improving delivery schedules by reducing both the number of hours needed for assembly and field tests.

We have technical and productive capacities to manufacture tanks of all kinds, shapes and materials, aimed at various applications and adapting ourselves to our clients' space needs. We offer high end products, specially directed towards urban and industrial liquid effluent treatment and reuse.

We develop plants' INTEGRAL AUTOMATION, and we adapt ourselves to our clients' needs. In order to control the plant, a system provided with touch-screen is available, in which all necessary elements for operation are integrated: set points, time switch, alarms, etc., therefore reducing maintenance needs of the plant. TELEMANAGEMENT systems can also be integrated.
